Psychotherapy
Sometimes life brings us to a place where our usual ways of coping aren't working anymore. Relationships feel strained, old wounds resurface, a transition we didn't choose — or one we did — turns out to be harder than expected. Whatever brings you here, I'm glad you're looking.
I work with adults navigating some of the more difficult stretches of human experience: trauma, addiction, major life transitions, and the kind of internal conflicts that can feel impossible to untangle alone. My approach is warm, individualized, and grounded in what the evidence says actually helps people change — while remaining attentive to what you specifically need, because no two people arrive at therapy with the same story or the same goals.
How I Work
I draw primarily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behavior — and how shifting one can shift the others. I also integrate mindfulness practices, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), particularly for clients working through trauma. In practice this means I'm not rigidly applying a single method but drawing on what fits the person in front of me.
What stays consistent is the relationship. Therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood, not assessed or managed. I take that seriously.
Virtual Therapy
I see clients exclusively via telehealth in California and Kansas. If you've never tried virtual therapy — or tried it during the pandemic under less than ideal circumstances — you might wonder whether it can really feel like therapy. In my experience, it can and does. Many clients find that being in their own space actually makes it easier to open up. The work is the same; the commute is not.
